FIRST TIME VISITORS

Where is NorthStar Church?

We're at 1145 King Mill Pike in Bristol, VA, just a couple miles off of I-81.

What time does service start?

Bible Fellowship Hour starts at 9:30 AM and our greeters will be more than happy to show each member of your family to the right class for them. Our worship service begins at 10:30 AM in the fellowship hall and will last about 60-90 minutes.

What is the service like?

Our worship service is always a combination of music and worship, bible based preaching, announcements, and an offering. Sometimes we do mix up the order though!

Are the sermons preached live or via video?

Our sermons will always be preached live by the Pastor or the occasional guest speaker. The Sunday messages are live streamed on Facebook and available afterwards on YouTube.

Where is your sanctuary?

Can't find the sanctuary? You didn't miss - we don't have one...yet! Our current building is Phase 1 - Church Office, Classrooms, Kitchen, and Fellowship Hall. Our Sanctuary will be Phase 2. So for now we have worship service in the fellowship hall, which is located on the bottom floor.

What is Bible Fellowship?

Bible Fellowship is our phrase for Sunday School. We have classes based upon your age (newborn -101) or based upon what stage of life you're in (college, young couples, widowed, senior adults, etc.) Upon your arrival, our greeters can help guide you to the class best suited for you!

What if I have kids?

We love kids at NorthStar and have age-appropriate environments where they can worship and learn more about Christ and His word on their own level. Depending on their age, your child may be in our nursery (newborn-2 years old); preschool (age 3-5); or Children's Church (K-5th Grade). All of our children's workers and teacher's have undergone the proper background checks and we ask that you follow our required check-in procedures to ensure the safety of your child. For more information about our security, please visit our Safety page

My child is in Middle or High School. What about them?

During our Bible Fellowship hour, our Students (middle/high school) have their own hangout upstairs, with music and a lesson specifically tailored to strengthen their faith and confront the challenges they face during this time of life.

During our 10:30 worship service, all middle and high schoolers (6th-12th grade) attend the adult service.

Is there a dress code?

Whatever makes you most comfortable! This may mean jeans, business casual, or a full suit and tie. You'll see all of that at NorthStar. So no matter what you choose, you'll fit right in!

Will I have to stand, speak, sign anything or give any money?

Absolutely not! You will never be put on the spot. While someone will be at the door to greet you and shake your hand, you do not have to put on a name tag, you will not be asked to stand, you will not be required to sign anything, and you will not be expected to give during the offering

Upon arrival we have brochures available to provide additional information about our church. We do have visitor cards which you may fill this out and place it in the offering basket to let us know you came or if you have any prayer requests. This is completely optional!

We also have a welcome bag with more information about us that you can pick up from any of our greeters. Again, no pressure, it's completely optional!

What do you believe?

Most importantly, we believe that Jesus is the Son of God and salvation is through Him alone. We also believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. For a more in-depth description of our beliefs, please visit our What We Believe page.

What about security?

In the times in which we live, we take the safety of our church members and visitors very seriously. For this reason, we have a complete security team dedicated to keeping you safe. We have also worked closely with our law enforcement and first responders to develop action plans in the case of fire, an active shooter, or other emergency situations. We also ask that you follow our security procedures for dropping off and picking up your children from our care. For more information about security, please visit our Safety page.
